“We are doing everything to ensure that 2021 will be a successful VISION year!“ promises Florian Niethammer, Project Manager for VISION at Messe Stuttgart 2021 as preparations for the major tradeshow get underway.

VISION’s Messe Stuttgart did not take place last year due to the pandemic but the event’s organisers have a “planning basis” with the latest Baden-Württemberg Corona Ordinance from the 28th of June. This involves rules and contingencies for the safe implementation of trade fairs in autumn, including a 4-stage plan that enables the trade fair managers to safely continue the trade fair operations even if incident rates rise. For example, the “3Gs” will be implemented on the trade fair grounds, ensuring that every participant has been verifiably vaccinated, has tested negative or has recovered from COVID-19.

“In spite of the dynamic pandemic situation and the realistic expectation among everyone involved, we are sensing enormous anticipation and the great desire that the machine vision industry and its customers can finally meet each other again in person in Stuttgart”, said Niethammer.

Organisers say the focal point of this year’s programme will be Industrial VISION Days, one of the world’s largest forums for machine vision where innovations and new products from the machine vision industry are presented and current trends are discussed. The VISION Award will also be presented for the first time on stage.

Pavilions will take place, with specific areas designated to providers, including the IPC 4 VISION area for suppliers of industrial PCs. Start-ups from all over Europe will also show their ideas and innovations in the newly created VISION Start-up World.

Niethammer and his team expect that VISION will focus more on Europe this year due to the still existing travel restrictions and quarantine regulations but the Exhibitor Directory currently contains around 250 national and international industry players who have registered their own exhibition stand. Organisers say that interested parties who cannot travel to Stuttgart this year will find all the trade fair exhibitors in the Online Exhibitor Directory.

Messe Stuttgart is also transmitting the Industrial VISION Days live and on-demand for the first time. The related trade fairs Motek and parts2clean are also new, with participants in both guest events given the opportunity to visit VISION free of charge.

Further safety rules include the obligation to wear a mask that can, as usual, be removed when using a catering service or whilst in the outdoor areas of Messe Stuttgart. A four-metre rule is in force, with aisles, catering, networking and forum areas during the trade fair adhering to this regulation. Exhibition halls will also ensure a close-meshed exchange of fresh air via a state-of-the-art building management system.

Messe Stuttgart will take place from the 5th of October to the 7th of October 2021.
