SmartRay to Demonstrate at The Battery Show
SmartRay to demonstrate its high-precision battery inspection and measurement sensors at The Battery Show.
SmartRay is set to attend one of Europe’s biggest battery exhibitions as the demand for new-energy and cleaner vehicles rises. With the use of cleaner, greener energy sources high on everyone’s agenda, the need for more environmentally friendly transport increases. The most essential component of an electric vehicle is the battery as the quality in all batteries is directly related to its performance.
Two high-performing solutions – designed for battery inspection, among other manufacturing fields – will be showcased at the exhibition which takes place from 23-25 May in Stuttgart. SmartRay’s highly efficient 3D inline inspection system, JOSY, delivers the highest precision in laser-based weld inspection for batteries and battery trays. The complete all-in-one solution for non-contact 3D inspections is the preferred choice of the world’s leading automotive brands, delivering exceptional quality, accuracy and reliability.
In addition, the new ECCO X sensor can be used to inspect the size and exterior defects of the battery cell. With cutting-edge high-speed scanning and an ultra-high resolution, its economic and compact design allows superior 3D image quality in challenging conditions. The new sensor is five times faster than its predecessor with up to 40kHz and double the resolution with 4096 points per profile.
Attending the trade show will be Francois Bangerter, Executive Sales Manager – ECCO and Alexander Denkl, Application Engineer – JOSY. He said:
“Working with our customers, we are opening up new ways to solve the challenges of inline inspection and measurement which were previously not possible. Our technology allows us to address a number of inspection tasks in the field of battery manufacturing, from cylindrical batteries to soft pouches and even the inspection of a battery tray of an electric vehicle.
“We’re really looking forward to speaking with our customers – both existing and potential – at the show.”
