LMI Technologies (LMI), a leader in 3D scanning and inspection, has announced the official release of its GoMax® NX Smart Vision Accelerator.

GoMax® NX is a compact, fanless, high-performance embedded device that allows users to accelerate any Gocator® sensor or multi-sensor network in heavy-duty inspection applications that require increased data processing power.

The GoMax® NX runs on the  Gocator® web browser interface and allows benefits such as adding GPU-accelerated data processing power to Gocator® 3D laser profilers and snapshot sensors, accelerating Gocator® multi-sensor networks and adding multiple GoMax® NX units to scale up sensor network acceleration.

All-round, the GoMax® NX is designed to enhance data processing power in real-time, minimizing cycle times and augmenting overall inspection performance so “customers can achieve optimal results”.

Applications for the accelerator include multi-sensor ring scanning for materials like composite flooring, robot-mounted weld inspection for areas such as automotive weld inspection using a Gocator snapshot sensor mounted on a robot, inspecting various points around the frame of the vehicle. A final and modern application is EV battery foam inspection, where volumetric measurement and quality inspection of EV battery protective foam can take place with Gocator snapshot sensors.
