How Has The Pandemic Changed Machine Vision?

by | Dec 15, 2022

The Covid-19 pandemic drastically altered every aspect of our lives, both personally and professionally. Businesses were forced to adapt, while some were unfortunately unable to survive the turbulent times.

Working from home soon became the norm for much of the population, while those unable to do so faced significant restrictions in their workplaces. The machine vision world was also hit with component shortages, which hindered product development and industry growth. Also, the 2020 VISION show was understandably cancelled and replaced by a virtual event. The industry reunited last year at VISION, albeit with limited international visitors as pandemic restrictions lingered on.

We at MVPro Media were also forced to make significant changes during the pandemic. We branched out to cover a wider range of topics during a time when the machine vision industry was at its most affected. While we have since returned to our roots at MVPro Media, the pandemic gave us the opportunity to reflect and research new ideas, a sentiment felt by many other businesses in the industry.

To find out how the industry changed during the pandemic, MVPro Media’s Matt Williams spoke to several innovators in the world of machine vision.
