Beckhoff to Showcase its Latest Control Technology at PPMA

Beckhoff UK will exhibit at the PPMA Show from September 26th to 28th, 2023 on stand F70. The show, which is held annually at the NEC in Birmingham, is the UK’s largest event for processing equipment, packaging machinery, industrial robots and machine vision systems.

On its stand, Beckhoff will showcase its popular MX-System — a pluggable system for control cabinet-free automation. The modular system contains over four decades of automation expertise, performing all of the tasks and containing all of the features of a traditional control cabinet.

Also on the stand will be Beckhoff’s XTS linear transport system, which offers a proven drive solution in which magnetically driven movers move along a travel path of fully integrated modules. An industrial PC with TwinCAT automation software enables independent control of these movers, resulting in a transport system that is ready for operation immediately after assembly. The XTS system will be equipped with no cable technology (NCT), allowing for contactless, continuous power supply and synchronous real-time data transmission to the XTS movers.

In line with PPMA’s machine vision focus, Beckhoff will have two of its vision systems on its stand — one multicolour inspection system and one backlight inspection system, both equipped with a 2.5 Gbit/s camera. These systems integrate into Beckhoff’s control platform thanks to them being equipped with TwinCAT Vision.

Finally, Beckhoff will showcase its PC- and EtherCAT-based automation technology for embedded control. This includes a range of fieldbus components for all common I/Os and fieldbus systems, motion drive systems for positioning tasks and industrial PCs and panels for all applications.
