Mech-Mind Robotics (Mech-Mind), a Chinese AI startup, has launched a new industrial 3D Camera called Mech-Eye Nano. Compact with high-quality 3D imaging, the solution is aimed at precision-required applications and on-arm mounting in pick-and-place robotics.
Equipped with fast structured light, the palm-sized camera can generate a complete and accurate point cloud with native and aligned colour for a wide variety of objects, including small, shiny, reflective, and coloured objects, with depth accuracy optimized to 0.05 mm at 0.3-0.4 m.
The company says Mech-Eye Nano is suited for on-arm mounting in pick-and-place robotics due to its application in space-saving environments and demanding applications, including assembly, screw driving, high-precision picking, and inspection.
“Mech-Mind specializes in enabling manufacturing by utilizing the best practice of AI and human-robotics interaction”, said Tianlan Shao, Founder & CEO of Mech-Mind, “The new generation of Mech-Eye Nano enhances our offering of accuracy applications in a space-saving environment.
“Driven by the philosophy to empower partners and integrators with competitive products and comprehensive service, we will leverage R&D and engineering strength to pioneer the next frontier of manufacturing”.

The camera is tailored to industrial needs, with an IP65 rating and an aluminium body, protecting it from dirt, dust, splash water or cleaning agents, obtaining CE, FCC, VCCI, and RoHS certifications. It also features a multi-language SDK for popular platforms, where end-users can integrate Mech-Vision graphical vision software and the Mech-Viz intelligent robot programming environment to develop customized applications.
Founded in 2016, Mech-Eye 3D industrial cameras have been deployed in over 1000 applications across industries including manufacturing, steel, food, logistics, finance, and healthcare. It further focuses on solutions to palletizing and depalletizing, bin picking, order sorting, machine tending and assembly/glueing/locating in logistics and manufacturing.
The company has also developed a product portfolio including 3D cameras, machine vision algorithms and software, and intelligent robot programming. These include products such as Mech-Eye Laser, which uses ambient light resistance to reduce shading facility requirements under sunlight that exceeds 10000 lux and Mech-Eye Deep, which can recognize tightly-packed sacks of different sizes.
