Entner acquires 3D-ONE

Entner Electronics

Entner Electronics has acquired 3D-ONE, a maker of embedded vision systems.

Founded in 2003 and based in Sulz, Austria, Entner has developed and manufactured a range of cutting edge camera-modules with integrated motorized optics and advanced interface products, all with onboard processing capabilities. Its products find uses in low vision systems, robotics, medical & clinical systems, industrial vision, special purpose cameras and intelligent traffic systems.

Entner announced that it had reached an asset purchase agreement to acquire the business activities of 3D-ONE.

Both companies will continue to operate under the name Entner Electronics.

In 2007, 3D-ONE was spun out from cosine measurement systems, a specialist in the development of high-end remote sensing equipment, sensor networks and X-Ray optics for applications in space, aerospace and industrial systems.

Today 3D-ONE is a specialist in the custom development of embedded vision systems for integration in medical devices, advanced mapping systems, special purpose cameras, food processing systems and remote sensing equipment. 3D-ONE’s embedded solutions concentrate on multi-sensor imaging, imaging spectroscopy and 3D-stereoscopic imaging.

Entner and 3D-ONE’s began working together some time ago with the development of the world’s first stereoscopic camera with motorized optics. This has been the start for several joint development projects of application-specific imaging solutions that successfully entered series production.

Founder and CEO of Entner Thomas Entner said: “We’re excited to integrate the expertise of 3D-ONE into Entner Electronics as together we form a powerful supplier of advanced imaging solutions for the embedded vision market,” said Thomas Entner, Founder and CEO of Entner Electronics.

“The combination of 3D-ONE’s know-how on embedded image processing and Entner’s capability to develop compact camera-modules with motorized optics and FPGA & SoC accelerated processing hardware enables us to come up with highly integrated solutions in a short period of time.

“The integration of the  two companies will benefit customers as all competences needed to take full repsonsibility for the development, integration, volume production and lifecycle management of compact and highly integrated camera modules with motorized optics and embedded processing capabilities are now available under a single roof.”

Managing Director of cosine Marco Beijersbergen added: “The integration of 3D-ONE’s activities with Entner Electronics is a logical step in the collaboration between Entner and cosine. We have been working closely together for many years and one market proposition will enable the customer to be served even more smoothly. cosine will continue working with Entner Electronics in the development of cosine measurement systems and software customization.”
